The Brett Torino Foundation is proud to partner with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation (LVMPD Foundation) in support of the men and women who work tirelessly to keep our community safe. Their dedication extends far beyond daily patrols — it is about building trust, fostering resilience, and ensuring Southern Nevada is prepared for any challenge.
A cornerstone of this partnership is the Foundation’s contribution toward the Joint Emergency Training Institute (JETI) — a state-of-the-art facility preparing law enforcement and first responders for the complexities of modern policing and emergency response. The JETI immerses officers in realistic scenarios, from simulated crime scenes to critical emergency events, sharpening their readiness when every decision matters. Its impact now reaches across Nevada, with statewide emergency agencies and fire departments coming to Las Vegas to train at this one-of-a-kind center.
The Brett Torino Foundation also supports LVMPD Foundation’s signature programs throughout the year, including:
- Hidden Heroes Gala – honoring the sacrifices of law enforcement.
- Lunch with a Sheriff – strengthening community dialogue and trust.
- Shop with a Cop – pairing officers with children to create moments of joy and connection during the holidays.
- Wellness Bureau Retreat at Torino Ranch – providing officers who have faced trauma in the line of duty a restorative space for healing and reflection.
Through these programs, we strive to show officers that their courage is valued, while giving our community opportunities to see law enforcement not as adversaries, but as the heroes they truly are.

Partner Spotlight: Brett Torino Foundation

The Brett Torino Foundation, in partnership with business leaders Paul and Dayssi Kanavos, has made a transformational gift toward the construction of the Joint Emergency Training Institute (JETI), a state-of-the-art facility that prepares Southern Nevada’s law enforcement and first responders for the challenges of modern policing and crisis response.
Their leadership and generosity have been instrumental in advancing this critical project, ensuring our officers have access to the training they need to keep our community safe. Their support underscores a deep commitment to the safety and preparedness of the Las Vegas Valley.
Beyond JETI, the Brett Torino Foundation continues to support the LVMPD Foundation as a sponsor of the Hidden Heroes Black & White Gala, which funds vital community engagement initiatives like Shop with a Cop. They contribute to our fundraising efforts by donating exclusive auction items from their tenants at 63 CityCenter, which sits at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue, offering a dynamic mix of dining, retail, and entertainment.
And when it comes to showing up, they do. Brett’s team regularly volunteers at community engagement events, helping reduce the need for uniformed officers and ensuring that the human side of law enforcement remains front and center.

Joint Emergency Training Institute
The Joint Emergency Training Institute, provides officers with life-like training environments that mirror public places it’s here officers sharpen their tactical skills, learn advanced de-escalation tactics, strengthen their readiness, and train collaboratively with other first responder partners to ensure a unified and effective response in high-pressure situations.
Shop with a Cop
The once a year program pairs police officers with at-risk youth and allows children to shop alongside law enforcement at both Macy’s and Walmart, this important program strengthens these officer and patron relationships.

This past Saturday night was a reminder that the most meaningful things are often done quietly.
To stand in a room filled with friends, partners, and community—many who have walked alongside Brett for years—was something special. The Hidden Heroes evening was thoughtful in every way, and we are deeply grateful to Sheriff McMahill, Karen, and the LVMPD Foundation team for the care behind it.
Brett was honored with the inaugural Impact Donor Award, recognition for something that has always come naturally to him—giving, serving, and showing up where he’s called.
His connection to the LVMPD Foundation is one that runs deep, and being recognized by those he respects made the moment even more meaningful.
A night we won’t forget. Grateful for it all.

We were honored to sponsor our first Shop With a Cop event of 2025 at @macys, one of the most meaningful programs we support each year. This two-part event serves hundreds of deserving children from some of the more vulnerable communities in Las Vegas, offering them a joyful holiday shopping experience and a chance to choose gifts they can truly call their own.
More importantly, Shop with a Cop helps children see police officers in a new light — as dedicated protectors, mentors, and compassionate members of their community. These shared moments help bridge perceptions and build trust, showing kids that officers are here for them, their families, and their future.

The Brett Torino Foundation was honored to welcome members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (METRO) and their families to Torino Ranch for the Wellness Bureau Retreat — a special day dedicated to restoring and supporting Southern Nevada’s law enforcement community.
Created and produced by Behind the Blue, the retreat offers a much-needed escape from the daily stress and trauma inherent in police work. Surrounded by the healing beauty of nature, participants spent the day relaxing, laughing, and reconnecting through shared experiences and meaningful moments of reflection.
A heartfelt thank-you to the incredible team at Behind the Blue and especially to Joe Hearns for his vision and leadership in making this retreat possible.
We’re deeply grateful for the opportunity to give back to those who serve our community with such courage, compassion, and heart. 💙

We’re proud to share, Brett Torino Foundation in partnership with Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation (NVCCF), has taken its Education Services program bedside to children receiving treatment at the Children’s Medical Center at Summerlin Hospital.
When a child is fighting cancer or another life-threatening illness, they often fall behind in school. This program provides vital continuity — offering tutoring, learning support, and advocacy so that no child falls behind while they heal. This expansion reflects the power of community partnerships and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to keep learning — no matter the challenges they face.
“Providing continuity in education… is not only essential for their academic success, but also for their emotional well-being,” said Brett Torino.
